Himalaya Visitor Centre Opens at Twycross Zoo

Adey Steel Ltd has completed works on the new Himalaya Visitor Centre at Twycross Zoo in time for its opening in May. Steelworks included a 200 tonne steel frame as well as the impressive snow leopard enclosure and wetland aviary. The animal enclosures comprise galvanised tubular columns and restraint guys with stainless steel netting draped over.

The £7m development provides a 300-seat restaurant, retail space and conference facilities as well as acting as the new tourist information centre for the zoo.

Zoo Director Suzanne Boardman said: “We are really excited about the new centre. This is a major development and is one of a number of improvements to be completed to attract more visitors and support our bid to make Twycross Zoo the best zoological society in the world."
